SOURCING
Sourcing is where values come to life. It’s not just the first step in our process—it’s the foundation of everything we do. We believe that exceptional coffee begins with responsible relationships, which is why we work closely with trusted importers, producers, and cooperatives who share our vision of transparency, sustainability, and equity in the supply chain.
Our sourcing philosophy is built on three pillars: quality, traceability, and impact. We seek out coffees that are not only vibrant and expressive in the cup, but also tell a deeper story about where they come from and who made them possible. Every lot we bring in is selected with intention—evaluated for its sensory profile as well as the integrity of the practices behind it. From harvest to export, we want to know how the coffee was grown, who grew it, and how it contributes to long-term community resilience.
We prioritize long-term relationships with producers whenever possible, working through importers who maintain boots-on-the-ground connections at origin. These partnerships allow us to support farmers through consistent purchasing, higher prices for quality, and feedback that helps them improve year after year. Many of our coffees are purchased at prices well above commodity and even Fair Trade levels, because we believe value should be shared across the entire supply chain.
Our offerings are diverse and dynamic, ranging from classic washed coffees to experimental processing methods that push the boundaries of flavor. Each origin is treated with respect and curiosity, and we are continually refining our sourcing strategy to reflect changes in climate, production, and global equity. By staying engaged and informed, we’re able to bring you coffees that are not only delicious but aligned with a broader mission of justice and sustainability.
When you drink a cup of CREDO coffee, you’re tasting the results of thoughtful sourcing and real relationships. Behind every roast is a producer’s hard work, a community’s livelihood, and a shared belief in doing business the right way. This is what sourcing means to us—not just buying coffee, but building a better, more equitable coffee industry from the ground up.
